---THE POSITIONS---

We are hiring for two different positions, and are seeking part to full-time entry-level creatives to join our weekend team. We are flexible on the number of days worked, so long as you can work weekends!

JEWELRY STORE ASSOCIATE:

In this position, you’ll assist customers in our retail store on bustling Alberta Street! Saturdays and Sundays are our busiest days, so working weekends is a requirement of the job.

You'll be responsible for greeting customers, helping as they shop, as well as using our point-of-sale. You'll be expected to replenish items as they sell and maintain a clean and organized shopping environment.

At least 1 year of working in a customer-facing setting is required. New hires receive on-the-job training for every aspect of this position, but preference in hiring is given to applicants with relevant experience. Jewelry making skills are always a plus!

ORDER & SHIPPING/FULFILLMENT ASSOCIATE: 

You'll be a part of our amazing shipping crew, where you'll process and pack orders for customers from all over the globe who shop at graylingjewelry.com!

Proficiency with computers is a must. This job requires a high level of attention to detail. Shipping/Fulfillment Associates work with numbers and need to be highly organized. New hires receive on-the-job training for every aspect of this position, but preference in hiring is given to applicants with relevant experience. Jewelry making skills are always a plus!

Grayling is a female-led, Portland-owned company founded by Katy Kippen. In business for more than 10 years, Grayling's in-house production team handcrafts modern pieces for jewelry lovers of all ages and sizes. We strive to provide an exceptionally high level of customer service to our customers. ---COMPENSATION---

This is an entry-level position and pay ranges from $16.50-18.00 an hour.

Full-time employees work 4-5 days a week for 7 hours a shift from approx. 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Part-time employees work 2-3 days a week for 7 hours a shift from approx. 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM. 

We also offer a $350 hiring bonus at 3 months!

---ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS---

• Must be a *current* Portland-area resident (at least 3 months, preferably longer)
• Must be able to work at our shop/studio in person (not remote or work-from-home)
• Feel comfortable and be able to work efficiently on computers
• Must be able to work with hands for long stretches of time (6-7 hours at a time)
• Good eyesight for detailed jewelry work or be willing to wear corrective/magnifying lenses is a must
• Able to use a ladder or step stool and be able to carry items that weigh up to 30 lbs.
• Available to work weekends
• Available between November 10 and December 24 due to a high volume sales period

Common surfaces are sanitized regularly. HEPA Air filtration units run throughout our space.
